Brian Howe, former deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Professorial Associate in the Centre for Public Policy at the University of Melbourne Waleed Ali, writer and member of Islamic Council of Victoria Peter Holding, Member ALP National Policy Committee (will summarise the views of Richard Dawkins, Al Gore and others on the relationship between faith, reason and politics).

Key issues: Are faith, reason and politics compatible? Is the secular state at risk? Is there a role for faith on the progressive side of politics or is faith a prisoner of the Right? What is the new “aggressive atheism” saying about the role of religion in politics?
There will be a voluntary levy of $3 for employed persons to cover costs.
